The Commercial Banking Leaders Roundtable agenda will be built around as close to 100% peer-to-peer exchange as possible. Throughout the year, we've been gathering ideas through member surveys, benchmarking initiatives, office hours, and individual conversations. Those themes will shape both our full-group discussions and our smaller breakout conversations.
Commercial banking is being reshaped from every direction—client expectations continue to rise, funding has become more strategic, technology is changing how work gets done, and every institution is looking for ways to improve productivity without compromising credit quality or relationship depth. Rather than asking "what's the right answer," we'll focus on the operating decisions commercial leaders are making today and the lessons they're learning along the way.
Among the questions we'll explore together:
· What does a high-performing commercial banking operating model look like today—and what responsibilities truly belong with Relationship Managers versus Portfolio Managers?
· How are institutions balancing loan growth, deposit growth, fee income, and credit quality when measuring commercial banker performance?
· What changes are banks making to accelerate decisions, reduce client friction, and improve speed to "yes" without weakening underwriting discipline?
· How are commercial leaders thinking about portfolio composition, growth priorities, and where they are intentionally becoming more—or less—aggressive?
· Where can AI and automation meaningfully improve commercial banking productivity over the next several years, and where is human judgment still indispensable?
· What organizational, talent, or process changes have delivered the greatest return—and which ideas looked promising but ultimately fell short?
Our hope is that every participant leaves with:
· One practical idea they can immediately apply at their institution.
· One new peer relationship they intentionally continue building after the meeting.
· A broader perspective on how commercial banking leaders across the country are responding to many of the same strategic opportunities and challenges.
We look forward to seeing many of you in Orlando this November!
