MBCA invites you and your executive leadership team to participate in the 2027 MBCA Path to Mid-Size Bank Workshop

The Workshop begins with a Welcome Reception and Dinner on Monday evening (6:30–8:30 p.m.), followed by a full-day program on Tuesday (7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.). We encourage participating institutions to send a cross-functional leadership team—including the CEO, CFO, CIO, CRO, and Chief Credit Officer—to maximize both the learning experience and the opportunity for internal alignment.  We encourage attendees to arrive on either Sunday afternoon to enjoy the South Florida sunshine ahead of the event or arrive Monday afternoon to join us for the Welcome Reception and Dinner, which provides an excellent opportunity to begin building relationships with fellow participants before Tuesday's program.

About the Workshop- As banks grow from community institutions into larger, more complex organizations, the leadership challenge extends well beyond balance sheet growth. Success requires new operating disciplines, stronger governance, scalable technology and data infrastructure, enhanced risk management, deeper executive specialization, and an organization capable of preserving the culture and customer focus that fueled its success in the first place. The transition is ultimately about learning to operate at the intersection of community and scale—retaining the agility, relationships, and entrepreneurial spirit of a community bank while building the capabilities expected of a larger institution.

Recognizing the significance of this evolution, the MBCA developed the Path to Mid-Size Bank Workshop to provide executive leadership teams with a practical forum to learn from peers who have successfully navigated the same journey. Over the past several years, it has become one of the Coalition's most highly regarded programs because it is built entirely around practical experience. Rather than relying on consultants or theoretical presentations, participants hear directly from executives who have successfully led their own institutions through this evolution.

Who Should Attend the Workshop- The Workshop is designed for cross-functional executive leadership teams, not individual attendees. We encourage each bank to participate with its CEO, CFO, CIO, CRO, and Chief Credit Officer. The program combines enterprise-wide discussions with role-specific breakout sessions, allowing executives to learn from peers facing similar challenges while also aligning with colleagues across their own leadership team. Senior executives from larger MBCA member banks also participate as mentors, sharing candid lessons learned from their own growth journeys.

Why Participate in the Workshop- Growing a bank requires more than additional assets—it requires building an organization capable of supporting greater scale while preserving the culture and customer focus that made it successful. The Workshop provides a forum where executive teams can learn directly from peers who have successfully navigated that journey, exchange practical ideas, and leave with actionable insights that can be applied immediately within their own institutions.

We hope you and your team will join us in South Florida in February!
